Gotta Be Funky Blue Note 2
Again a collection of songs from the Blue Note and Capitol archives for the aficionado. My attempt to fill the gap of DJ Maestro's excellent 'Blue Note trip' series. One of the tracks, Herbie Hancock’s ‘Bring down the birds’, has been sampled by Deee-lite in their masterpiece ‘Groove is in the heart’ (featuring Q-Tip and P-funk bassist Bootsy Collins). Super DJ Dmitri, Lady Miss Kier and Towa Tei also used Vernon Burch’s 'Get up' for their classic. Both songs can be heard in Professor Eddy Breaks Down. Enjoy 'Gotta Be Funky Blue Note 2'! Part 1 came online the 4th of May.
