The Smooth Operators present 'More Mellow Morning Moods'

Faye Dunaway
Enjoy this new tribute to the 1970s FM radio sound by The Smooth Operators!

The track by Greg Yoder is from ‘AOR Global Sounds Vol.2’. That’s a new compilation by Charles Maurice and consists of 8 forgotten and rare tracks recorded between 1975 and 1983 in all parts of the globe. At the end of the 1970s, many artists over the world were deeply influenced by AOR’s famous stars such as Steely Dan and their classic album ‘Aja’. They tried to reach the same attention to sound production and details, and this specific West Coast style, mixing together pop-rock standards, with soul (sometimes disco) and jazz influences. It’s the sound that can be heard on this follow-up to Mellow Morning Moods.

By the way, two tracks (Valerie Carter and Renee Geyer) are from ‘The Ladies Of Too Slow To Disco’, the new album compiled by DJ Supermarkt that came out last week. The liner notes are interesting as well. For instance, did you know that Amy Holland is actually Dutch and that her real name is Amy Boersma?
