AOR Radio: Golden Days Of Summer

My intention was to make a mix that makes you wish for those wonderful summers in a faraway past that won’t return in any kind of way… ;-)

There’s a small tribute to James Ingram, who recently passed away. He began performing with the band Revelation Funk in the early 1970s, moving from Akron, Ohio to Los Angeles in 1973. Ingram supported Ray Charles on the road with backup vocals and piano, played keyboards behind the Coasters on Dick Clark's oldies revues, and was Leon Haywood's musical director. After hearing a demo of him singing Just Once, Quincy Jones asked Ingram to perform on his 1980 album The Dude. The song became Ingram's first success, resulting in two Grammy awards. Throughout the decade, Ingram continued to stay on the charts and sang successful duets with Patti Austin (Baby Come To Me) and Michael McDonald (Yah Mo B There).

Enjoy the golden days of summer episode of AOR Radio! Next up is a new part of Boombox.
