Mellow Mellow FM Presents Fading Days Of Summer

These days summer fades out just like disco faded away in the late 1970s. Donna Summer’s farewell salute to disco turned out to be Bad Girls. In 1979 it was her final disco hit:
“The gist of the song came about when one of Summer's secretaries was mistakenly harassed by police who thought she was a Sunset Boulevard prostitute. When Summer played the track for label head Neil Bogart, he thought it was too rock & roll for her and thought the song was ideal for labelmate Cher.” (Allmusic)

Dutch producers and songwriters Bernard Oattes and Rob van Schaik initially called themselves The Limit and composed several great dance/pop tracks, for instance Love Take Over by Five Star. As a duo they released a full-length album in 1985, which contained the 1983 hit single Say Yeah with Gwen Guthrie on vocals and David Sanborn on saxophone. The song peaked at #17 on the UK Singles Chart, #34 on the Dutch Pop Chart and at #7 on the Billboard Dance/Club Play chart. For legal reasons they became Oattes Van Schaik, just before they released their album.
