Midnight Plane To Houston, a song about Hollywood actress Farrah Fawcett, was the original title of the soul classic Midnight Train To Georgia. When Cissy Houston (mother of Whitney) wanted to record it, songwriter Jim Weatherly was asked if she could sing about a midnight train to Georgia. Her audience did not take planes to Houston. Weatherly did not mind, and certainly not after Gladys Knight's cover version, which went to number one a year later. Gladys Knight & The Pips had already scored a number 2 hit with Neither One Of Us, also a Jim Weatherly song.
