Disco proved to be indestructible and it came back stronger and more soulful in the 1980s. Enjoy this new part of The Disco Years ! Billboard to promote Boz Scaggs' Middle Man album Some extra vitamin C from old school FM radio to get us through these cold days of winter! This is the 4th part of my new series Sunshine Radio : West Coast inspired music to warm you up😊 Enjoy! Irene Cara who died at the age of 63 last year, was best known for the title songs of the films Fame and Flashdanc e, huge hits in the eighties. At first she was hired to be a dancer in the movie Fame , until the filmmakers heard her sing. Cara won two Grammy Awards (including Best New Artist) for her performance, plus an Oscar for Best Soundtrack. The title song of the dance film Flashdance brought Cara another success in 1983. Flashdance... What A Feeling , which leans heavily on Giorgio Moroder's synthesizers, became a number 1 hit in the United States with Cara's vocals . What A Feeling also won several major music and film awards, including the Grammy for best song and an Oscar. The 1976 long lost self-titled Jaye P. Morgan

Pexels We're taking it slow and easy on this new part of Smooth Sailing . Enjoy! Angela Bofill’s 1983 album Too Tough performed better on the charts than her previous album, Something About You . The title track became a credible dancefloor hit, peaking at number two on the Billboard Dance chart and at number five on the soul chart, although it stayed under the radar in the Netherlands. The remainder of the album has similar dance-pop songs and a few soulful ballads, like You Could Come Take Me Home , which is on this cloudcast. “This was arguably the best Bofill production done by Narada Michael Walden.” (Allmusic) Bayou Paradise by brothers Will and James Ragar (re-issue on BBE) is an ode to the beauty of Southern Louisiana: “The famous Sunshine bridge over wetlands as the sounds of migrating geese echo overhead on their journey down the Mississippi River flyway.“ (Bandcamp) Tracklist: The Sandpipers – It’s Too Late (1971) Marden Hill – Oh Constance (1988) Will & James Rag
