Enjoy the Billboard Disco Action Top 20 ranked from 20 to 1, as published in Billboard Magazine on the 23rd of October 1976. At the time soul and disco were almost synonyms. Even soul bands that originated from the 1960s, like The Fantastic Four, The Spinners and The Originals could successfully jump on the disco train. In 1976 they sounded like fresh disco stars instead of old soul singers. In later years the Disco Action Top 20 became more and more blurry with rock artists like Rod Stewart and Blondie and even new wave acts like Devo and the The B-52s in the list.
