Soft Autumn West Coast Breeze

Enjoy this soft autumn West Coast breeze! Autumn is perhaps best summarized by English band Mud in their song Don’t You Know: “It’s slightly getting colder… “ 😉 It is the B-side of their hit Show Me You’re A Woman and on the compilation album Mud: The Singles 1973-80. Show Me You’re A Woman reached number 8 in the UK and only number 25 in the Netherlands. By the way, the lyrics of that song would be called very inappropriate these days, because it somehow suggests a relationship with a minor.

American Flyer was formed in 1976 and released two successful albums before falling apart two years later. They had one small hit, Let Me Down Easy, which reached number 80 on the Billboard Hot 100. It is from their self-titled debut album, which has Lady Blue Eyes on board too. The LP was produced by George Martin, known for his work with the Beatles, of course.

Little Feat’s Gringo was covered by singer-actor Arnold McCuller on his A Part Of Me That's You album in 1984. It is also one of the tracks on the upcoming Too Slow To Disco compilation Yacht Soul - The Cover Versions 2 that will be released on the 10th of November. Gringo is a very soulful version of a yacht rock song that sounds even be better than the original.

Emm Gryners latest album Business & Pleasure came out earlier this year. Her next single will be a jazzy cover version of Bobby Caldwell's What You Won't Do For Love and will be released next month (on this  cloudcast the song is done by Natalie Cole & Peabo Bryson).
"Business & Pleasure is infused with the sunshine soul and stellar playing of the late 70s and early 80s.”
