Boombox 10 Sophisticated Funk & Classic Disco

Enjoy this 10th part of Boombox! The Boombox series is about music that sounds best on your oldschool ghettoblaster.

Belgian singer and music producer Lou Deprijck was the main member of Two Man Sound, a Latin-disco outfit that he formed with Sylvain Vanholme and Yves Lacomblez (a three man sound, so to speak). Two Man Sound sold over a million copies of their 1975 single ‘Charlie Brown’, while the album ‘Disco Samba’ had sales of more than a million copies in Latin America. In 1978 Deprijck also had a major solo success in France, the Netherlands and Belgium with ‘Kingston, Kingston’, under the moniker Lou & The Hollywood Bananas. In the English speaking world Deprijck's best known hit was ‘Ça plane pour moi’, which he recorded and sang for Plastic Bertrand. 'Que tal America' has become a big underground disco classic over the years. It has been played by Bob Sinclar, Joey Negro and Dimitri From Paris.
