Soul Searching VIII

This 8th episode of Soul Searching starts with a really nice track from The Bird And The Bee's 'Interpreting the masters volume 1' album. And it’s followed by the late Rick James. No one can sing ‘sexy, sexy, sexy’ better than he did in his prime. There’s also a track from the new José James album ‘Blackmagic’. It’s one of the best albums of 2010 so far, if you ask me. Check it out!

Thanks to Baron von Luxxury for sharing Serge Gainsbourg! LeBaron almost wrote a track for the latest Britney Spears album, but his effort was rejected. But that turned out to be a good thing when the album came out… Mayer Hawthorne will play on the 5th of May at the Liberty Festival in Groningen.

Great show Eddy - One of your very best!

So many highlights, but here's a few:
80's Ladies – He Is Mine Forever (1980)
Air Power – Welcome To The Disco (1979)
Tomorrow’s Men – Who’s That Lady (1969)
Archie Bell – Harder And Harder (1981)
Universe City – Can You Get Down (1976)

Also it was great to hear some Rick James, I thought I was the only one out there who was still playing the great man's music!

P.S.

I loved the Jose James track and am going to check out the album!

P.P.S.

When's part 9!

Thanks! Rick James is still one of the best of Motown, I think. He did some silly things in his life, but his music is indestructible. There are no plans for a part 9 yet, sorry... One of these days I'll upload part 2 of Last Days of Disco. I hope you'll enjoy that one as well!
