Boombox 5 City Soul & Disco Rock

Soul and funk bands going rock and rock bands going disco, especially in the 1970s and early 1980s, that's what this 5th part of Boombox is all about. Heavy guitars on disco tracks (like the guitar solo from Eddie Van Halen on Michael Jackson’s 'Beat it') and, the other way around, beats and soulful vocals on rock songs (Toto, Barrabas, Boz Scaggs, Mud, Roxy Music, etc.). There’s also a small tribute to Donna Summer in this mix. She died May 17 last year. I selected ‘State of Independence’ and I used snippets of ‘Love to love you, baby’ on ‘Mellow blow’ from Barrabas. Enjoy! Pictures from Katmarshmodel
